Brighter Days Giving – Core Values

Brighter Days Giving Values

Brighter Days has a biblical foundational base, agreeing with Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16 [that] “all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and training in righteousness”.

His Word tells us to minister to, provide comfort to, and care about those who are marginalized whether that manifests sexually, mentally, spiritually, or physically and regardless of their agreement with our beliefs. Jesus demonstrated this time and again.

For example, we affirm the historically Christian view of marriage and sexual expression, that marriage is a lifelong one-flesh covenant union between a man and a woman. This affirmation doesn’t lessen our desire and commitment to love and serve those who may not agree with us.  For more details on all of our values and their scriptural basis, check out:  https://www.christianbiblereference.org/faq_ChristianValues.htm

We want to emphasize that we differentiate between agreement and acceptance. In our current cultural rhetoric, agreement and acceptance are often interchanged: “If you don’t agree with my ethical choices (belief), you don’t accept me (expression).” However, in Jesus, we observe the opposite phenomenon: Those who felt most accepted in Jesus’ presence were those most obviously living in disagreement with His teaching. We are unapologetically aligned with every word of Christ’s teaching. Equally, we are uncompromisingly insistent on becoming the sort of community where those out-of-alignment with His teachings know they are cared about regardless of their agreement with our values or beliefs.

These values are respected in our giving. We align ourselves with organizations committed to marginalized groups that bring hope to the helpless while pointing the hopeless to the ultimate hope found in redemption through Christ. We believe this is the Gospel.
